Comments:

Fantastic weekend!

Despite several factors that have worsen the score, I managed to claim a new
SOAB HP record!

I arrived home from a long business trip at 22 UTC, took all the stuff and went
fast to the contest QTH.
I had no time to set up the usual SO2R configuration, so I had to live with a
classic SO1R setup and have as much fun as possible.
Everything was ready 2 minutes before the start!

Started on 40m with nice runs. I saw that 20m was wide opened to NA but decided
to stay in 40m and get as much 6 pointers as possible.
Solar reports said the worst day of the solar storm was on Saturday, so I hoped
for the same 20m band conditions the second night.

The strategy worked and at the end of the first night I saw there was an
opportunity to claim new EA record.
I decided to stop for 6 hours and work 20m as much as possible during the first
day, hoping for better 15m conditions on Sunday.

BIG MISTAKE! Conditions on Sunday got much worser and 15m was just opened for
EU for a few hours.

Solar storm was very active on Sunday, but QRN due to close thunderstorms as
well!
Since Saturday evening QRN was huge, making very challenging to pick the calls
and reports at first time. Sorry for the many repeats!
I feel that this contest will have a bigger error rate than last years :-(

At the end of second night, the Prosistel rotator decided to stop turning.
Fortunately the tribander was pointing to NA and the 40m beam to EU.
So many issues with this rotator since I purchased it one year ago...

On Sunday, horrible conditions during the usual big run hours to NA on 15m and
20m obliged to QSY to 40 and 80 looking for 2 pointers...
And again, thunderstorms in the evening...

Despite the solar and weather conditions, QSOs keep coming in the log and I
really enjoyed the contest with good final runs on 20m the last 2 hours.

I really missed the second radio that could help in the slower rate hours
looking for more QSOs and Multipliers, and for sure would be much more funny.

Congratulations for the big numbers and nice competition on cqcontest.net!

73!

Jon, EA2OT (EF2A)
