Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement
community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. We planned to operate 2E.
But, the generator failed after 10 min. of setup and one QSO, so 2D was
Plan B.
We emphasized CW at 2 points/QSO and stuck to 20 and 40 m. for CW because
we got good rates running, typically 50 to 70/hr. on each band. With those
rates it seemed risky to try 15 or 10 m. where F-layer propagation was weak.
So, we missed the plentiful sporadic-E skip on 15 and 10 reported by others.
We actually made a total 608 CW QSOs and 65 phone QSOs for a total of 673,
but 20% of those were zero-point Qs with other Class D stations. The totals
listed above are the QSOs that earned points.
