Comments:

I was disappointed that the 50 MHz Sprint was slipped to two weeks later than it
had been in recent years. Also, with a meeting of the Society of Midwest
Contesters happening on the same day, many of the QSO 'targets' that can be
counted on from Illinois and surrounding areas were absent.

Perhaps I self-fulfilled my prophecy but, not expecting much activity or
propagation enhancement, I went out, planning to operate only the first hour or
so and with JUST a magmounted vertical antenna.

I did manage to work two local stations (KO9A and K0PG) and one more distant
station (thanks to N9LB for pulling my puny signal out of the noise at about
150 km) from all 4 of my grid stops. Caught a fourth station (N9SW) while
mobile but he was just in there for the one Q.

Thanks to Bruce, NT4RT, for his continued management of this event and to the
SVHFS for their continued sponsorship. Thanks also to 'the other Bruce',
WA7BNM, for providing the 3830scores.com web page for posting scores for this
and many other contests.

73, JK
