Never heard a PR stations. Was on long enough to work NP2X. Took a break at
1815 for a snack and to watch the start of the race. Didn't realize that would
be the end for me. About 1900 T-storms with heavy rain started passing thru.
Unplugged everything and settled down to watch the race, figuring in an hour or
so the storm would pass. It did pass but not until close to 10:00PM. We lost
power several time and had I would guess 3 or so inches of rain here. Some of
the longest thunder I've ever heard. Some would last for a minute or more.
Lots of lightning but it didn't seem like air to ground stuff. Tornado
warnings several times - there was touch down in Celina that did some damage.
It looked like it was over about 9:00ish and I thought briefly about getting on
for a bit but just then lighting his something behind me - I would guess a tree.
It sounded like a bomb went off. The whole house shook.
Other than the weather conditions seemed to be pretty decent. No apparent
damage found so far. Will see when daylight comes.
