Comments:

One of the 3830 posters said that what separates the men from the boys is: who
sticks out the final hours of CW Sweepstakes. I'm with the boys this year
" I turned the rig off when the QSO counter rolled to 850, with 2.5
hours left on the clock.

I did something different this and tried SO1R this weekend " first time
in several years. It's harder than I'd remembered - having to decide when to
focus on CQing and when to focus on S&Ping. My hat's off to K3UA, who
presently has the top LP SO1R score: 900 QSOs, which he did with a low 80m
dipole. (Of course, location helps " Phil had 475 80m QSOs.)

I joined the online leaderboard this time, and had fun watching the
back-and-forth contest between K5ZD and K7JR. When things slowed down on
Sunday, I took comfort in seeing that my peers on the leaderboard were slogging
just as slowly as me.

Thanks to the crew that does so much work VY1AAA. They were easy on Sunday.
AB2ZY called me for NNY, and NP3A called me for PR - both early in the contest.
Never heard VI (although maybe if I'd been a man, and stuck it out, I might've
gotten the sweep).

dit dit,

Bill, K2PO
Portland, OR
