Comments:
I am very grateful for the opportunity to operate from the remotehamradio.com
super station from Eastport, Maine. The team there (W2RE, WW2DX and more) have
done a fantastic job with that station. A week prior to the contest, the new
160M 4 square was ready as well as BPFs for the main station. I was super
impressed by the station again. I probably did a little too much running on 160
but it sure was a lot of fun to have a signal like that on Top Band.
The bands were pretty quiet which made for a lot of fun. Rates were really good
during the morning hours and allowed for some goods time for interleaved pileup
opportunities. I was hoping for more on 15 meters but I’ll take what we got.
Friday morning I managed to make a few EU QSOs on 10 but I didn’t hear a
thing from that area or Africa during the contest.
This was my first time operating CQWW CW from New England - lots learned and
lots of fun. I actually set everything up from kitchen and drove through an old
laptop - very convenient! Everything worked very well - no issues at all!
