Comments:
Another fun one from Central Texas. After the good 6M EU opening Saturday
morning it was disappointing to have a dead band at 1800Z.
After banging away at the F1 Key for a whopping 11 QSO's the first three hours,
things started picking up in the 21Z hour. Band was open OK for the next few
hours to the Rocky Mountains, upper Midwest, New England, NE Canada &
eastern Seaboard. Band was dead by 0300Z, and never opened up by 0500Z, so got
some shut eye.
Band was slow to open Sunday, but came alive in the 15Z hour, and really picked
up with >60 hours in the 16Z, 17Z & 18Z hours and 40 Q's in the 19Z hour.
Then band folded up and only 7 Q's the last hour. On Sunday during the good
rate hours, the band was open about everywhere, making it a chore with only a
single yagi. Skip got pretty short with openings into OK AR LA & NM
The mode breakdown: CW: 140 SSB: 337 Digital: zero
Lots of fun and several all time new grids.
Thanks to all for the QSO's & patience with QSB, etc. Always great to run
across old friends & make new ones. I love 6 Meters!
Rig: Elecraft K3/P3 + KPA1500 amp to rotary 3 el Cushcraft yagi @ 50'
N1MM+ logging software.
