Comments:
My antenna rotator has developed a bad spot at about 60-80 degrees, where it
doesn't want to rotate out of that position. It got worse over the contest, and
for much of the contest it was stuck, pointed at about 70 degrees. Fortunately,
it did rotate to VY1 when the chips were down. I'll be out of CQWW CW unless it
gets fixed.
Band conditions were poor on Saturday night, with lightning static on 40, and
high absorption on 80.
Special thanks to the guys who put on KP4 and Kp2 this year!
15 was pretty good on Sunday, and provided a place to put the run radio, while
doing S&P on 20. As usual, things got slow at the end, but I had two hours
of off time to use.
I'll have to remember not to use this year's contest for a call history next
year, because there were a lot of CK 49, I guess in tribute to W0AIH.
It's always nice to work the regulars in this contest. It's like the SS Social
Club.
