Comments:

A last-minute opportunity popped up to get on the radio at 3:30pm on Sunday as
FRESH MEAT!!! I chose 40 meters and was amazed to find the band was wide open -
to all parts of Europe, the middle east, VK and of course the south. It was
game on to try and obtain a 40-meter DXCC within 3.4 hours of operating. I
*almost* did it. There were only one or two multipliers I could hear that I
couldn't work. The band was INCREDIBLE!! This was another excellent CW test
for the Icom IC-7610, which performed extremely well while I was sandwiched
in-between some huge signals. I also discovered the very useful audio peak
filter, which DOES make a difference at times between getting a station in the
log and asking for repeats.

A very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday season to all!

73,

Jim WX3B
