Having my vertical down I had not planned to participate this year because I
thought it was no sense to struggle with a high angle antenna like my low OCF
(Windom 80m long, apex at 10m and ends at 3-4m).
I made 5 QSOs around W/VE sunset and then gave up and went to sleep.
I woke up unintentionally before sunrise so thought I would give it a try after
all. I was amazed that I could work almost every one I heard from East coast to
Ohio and Ky with this antenna.
