Comments:
First time using the 10M band.
Suddenly Sunday afternoon decided to try a few QSOs. No 10M antenna up.
Grabbed my QRPGuys portable no-tune end fed half wave antenna device, cut a
piece of wire to match, lowered the fan dipole, connected the top end of the 10m
antenna wire to the support line of the fan dipole, and hoisted the thing back
into position. Bottom of the antenna must have been about 20 feet of the
ground.
First half hour was not bad, starting at 2018-12-09 1839z to 2018-12-09 1909z
made five contacts by calling CQ at 28.402 continuously and using W3LPL's
spotting to pounce on contacts at other frequencies. The next forty minutes
yielded on two QSOs. Got one more and took a break for XYL matters.
Returning just before 2100z, called CQ on 28.402 for half an hour while watching
for spots on the cluster ... nothing. Game over. QRT.
