Comments:

My first real go at OKDX RTTY and I thoroughly enjoyed the contest, Thanks to
DJ4MH on live scores for the competition, we battled for the first 12 hours
swapping top spot before I managed to get away. Live scores is a great motivator
and it would be good if more used it. Late on LZ5K appeared and was in front but
I think the station was SO2R so must be in the Multi Op category.

I decided on a strategy and stuck to it for most of the contest using the 5 min
band change rule to good effect to keep the rates as high as possible, this was
never going to be a really busy contest but good fun, I managed to watch the
football on TV Saturday lunchtime and always had something on, "waiting for
the screams from the purists" but for me contesting is fun and not a chore,
so for RTTY the TV is always on!!

Disappointed with 15m, no real opening at all and 10 was flat, I made sure 40m
was my main band with support from 80m and 20m as the totals reflect.

Using Elecraft K3 with Alpin 200 and an array of various antennas built up from
our MS team days.

Highlight was being called by KL1 late on in the evening on 40m, boy did you
have some arctic flutter on you !!

Thanks for David G3YYD for the latest beta of 2Tone which worked flawless with
N1MM. The only issue I had was with a couple strong stations where the RTTY
diddle didn't sound right, it was like the tone switch was slow with big gaps,
not sure what these guys were using, maybe some form of FSK but it sure wasn't
working right.

Thanks everyone for the contacts and see you all in the New Year, Seasons
Greeting to everyone

Jim M0CKE - G2F
