Comments:

Very quiet VHF contest if you are only using the traditional ham modes of SSB
and CW. Put an hour on Saturday and worked 3 stations, and was active most of
Sunday but no big surge of VHF ops or QSOs. Most intersting contacts were with
the SOTA guys on mountain tops: WG0AT and K0NR; Rover AB0YM, and WD0BQM in DN81
on CW for nice DX QSO on 2m.

Used to work about 60- 70 QSOs in the January VHF test but reportedly many VHF
ops have shifted over to FT8 or upgraded and gone to HF. I stopped roving to
"rare" grids when QSO count dropped dramatically a year or two ago,
and gave away my rover antennas. Hope the contest administrators come up with a
plan to encourage more traditional SSB and CW QSOs instead of just letting VHF
tests become FT8 contests all on one frequency.
