Comments:
Band was nice and quiet, but DX propagation seemed poor. No EU stations heard
here, although I did manage a few Africa QSOs and some Caribbean. I have to
confess that I got bored both evenings as I kept running out of stations to
work. Southern CA is not the place to be a competitive contester on 160 M.
I took breaks to work on jigsaw puzzle with the XYL and when I returned, there
were new stations. Not my best effort and no new DX, but still a fun contest.
Having a good antenna really makes a difference. I was pretty much able to work
everyone I could hear - I just didn't hear as many stations as those on the
other coast.
