Comments:
Primary objective again this year was to find and work new countries to get 160
DXCC. About 2 dozen left to hit 100 from the new QTH. Spent lots of time
listening and checking the spots. JT5LZ and BY1RX were ones that got away with
559 above the noise but they seemed to prefer calling CQ than working anyone.
Never heard either work a US stn. Must be high QRN issues. Did manage to snag
CN2, CT9, E51, FM5, GM5, G3, HK1, PS2 and all the usual Caribbeans.
We were getting RBN action from EU plus a few emails from stns there trying to
get thru, but only worked a few EU this year. Will try skeds with those needing
MT later that I couldnt hear above the S2 noise level here. It's maddening to
hear faint signals in the noise calling, but not enough to catch call signs even
using 3 different rx antennas.
Did snag WAS but where were all the Canadians this year? Lots of VE3, VE6 and
VE7 but nary a hint of VE4, VY1, or any of the Maritime provinces. 9 lost mults
there.
Activity seemd a bit lower from last year. No VK, ZL, HL, DU, Bs, or Pacific
action other than KH6 and KL7 with fewer JAs and Russians to work at grey line.
A cranky Winkeyer wiped out an hour Sunday morning. But great fun as always. Tnx
for the Qs.
