Comments:
My second CQ160CW from my Maine QTH. Versus last year:
Same rig + same antenna + 30% more time = 30% less score!
(I think the same brain too, not sure....)
Although more Qs, less countries and 10 pointers.
It seemed that there were more hams calling on top of others. I
could also hear a lot more than heard me -- sort of backward.
100w to a low dipole just doesn't hack it.
Some random observations:
* More than normal bad fists
* Many alligators
* Lots of key clicks
* Amazing how many hams don't listen long enough after
calling, and just keep calling! (Both running and S&P)
* Does a lack of sunspots force hams to 160 to get their
contest juices flowing?
I did pick up three more countries for DXCC, but none of the
last three states I need (HI, AK, NV) for WAS on 160 in ME.
Rig: TS-590S
Antenna: 160/80 HB trapped dipole at about 9M.
(Part of my 160/80/30/20/10 fan dipole)
Logger: N3FJP's CQ WW 160 Contest Log Version 4.7
BIC = 12 hours
