Comments:
Missed out on operating the first five hours of both evenings ie the hours of
peak rates and DX, so wound up hitting the 3am-8am hours hard on both nights
plus the last 90 minutes of the contest during daylight hours. What a pleasant
surprise! 160 was hopping even at the end.
When I was on, I did not hear much European dx, just a little from SA, only one
African, a couple of KH6's, a fair number of Caribbeans, and nothing from
Asia or Alaska. So the DX number was way down from last year. Total hours
OTA were also down to 13:34, but rates look to be about the same, pushing 50/hr.
Biggest surprise was how steady and strong signals were all thru the night.
Put up a 305 ft Beverage but didnt use it much, until the final 90 minutes
when it seemed to pull out the sigs really well from its bi-directional
orientation. NE/SW.
Station: IC7610 - ACOM 1000 - 130 ft Inv-L ( 52 ft vertical leg) with 38
radials - SAL-30 rx antenna - JK BevFlex Beverage rx antenna - N1MM+ software.
