PG2AA: The PACC 2019 is history and although the propagation is way down from a
few years back, I had a great time. So want to thank all participation in the
Dutch PACC! It's always a join being hunted, particularly with a small little
pistol station. The set-up in Amsterdam was a FT897D running 60W out to a FB13
for 10-15-20 and a too short and low 2 x 12m dipole for 80 and 40 meter. During
the contest often was some QSB on the signals. Often had to dig in deep to get
the call signs out of the "mud". But well guess this was on both side.
So really appreciated the effort from you and kept calling! My raw score was
Total calls = 673Q 80M:196Q 40M:232Q 20M:226Q 15M:18Q 10M: 1 Q.
Considering the set-up not all too bad. An extra problem this year was I've
caught a cold and had to sneeze a lot. On some moments suddenly started a bloody
nose, which wasn't helpful during running and making a bloody mess on the
keyboard. But well I've survived. And after now active in contest since 1985 it
still is a wonderful way to spend a weekend. Enjoying many contact and working
familiar call signs, but also inevitable missing some who are now SK. Strange
how you even can remember contacts from a 3 seconds from contest in my start in
1985. Making this hobby special and still magic. On the moment from writing this
got a WhatsApp message from my son who just landed on the Falkland Island on his
way to South Georgia (VP8) for his job. Would have been a nice mult in any
contest. Some how wondering what I've missed getting him into our hobby. Well
