Comments:
It seems like there's never enough time to get everything working just right,
but we managed to cobble things together in time for the contest -- thanks in
large part to W2GD spending 6+ hours on the tower repairing the 40-meter yagi in
the Aruba sun and constant wind.
Things went pretty smoothly during the contest. We did take a K3 out of service
because of a wide/buzzy note, and replaced it with the one we were going to use
for spotting and hunting, so that was a bit of a handicap. We lost a couple
hours reconfiguring that station.
Sure would've been more fun with some 10-meter propagation, even the
short-but-intense ones that we had last year. Of the over 15,000 Qs made by the
3 Aruba stations this year (P40L m/s, P40W s/o, and P40E m/2), only 2 (two!)
QSOs were on 10 meters. Yikes.
