Comments:
As usual for me, another 'haunting' of my favorite Grid Corner, EN51, EN52, EN61
and EN62.
Attempts to get my FT-991 and laptop "communicating" via USB were met
with frustration and lack of success so no 'digital' modes from the CoROVERolla.
Even the 'original digital mode' (a.k.a. "CW") escaped me, despite
trying different cables with my "JK-38" straight key (that also
troubled me in the 432 MHz Sprint) so all Qs were made using SSB.
Good thing I had BOTH of my 20 A-hr LiFePO batteries with me as the one I
started with had been partially used and dropped out about an hour into my
opertaing.
Antenna was my 'original' KB6KQ omni loop.
My only "DX" was ONE QSO with K2DRH in EN41 at 192 km. I heard that
Bob kept busy with FT8 and MSK144 so glad that I caught him on SSB. Missed EN62
from two of my spots so I was two shy of the 16 for working all four of the
local grids from all four of my stops.
18 different calls in my log. Thanks to all of the stations who were able to
pull my puny signal out of the noise and work me, with special thanks to the
EIGHT fixed stations who were able to do that from all 4 of the Grids I
visited.
Thanks to all who participated, to the Central States VHF Society for their
continued sponsorship of the Spring VHF & Up Sprints, to the support team of
KA2KQM, W0ZQ and WB8BZK and to WA7BNM for the 3830scores.com reporting
resource.
