Comments:
Spent most of Saturday afternoon trying to make that new-fangled WSJT-X program
play with the latest version of N1MM+. I followed exactly the 4-page procedure
outlined on the N1MM+ web site and I was successful in getting WSJT-X to run by
clicking on Window and then loading WSJT/JTDX. However, after starting WSJT and
successfully logging a few calls I noticed that the calls I had already logged
were showing up on the WSJT display still highlighted as NOT being logged. I
also noted that my rig control which set the split offset for the transmitter no
longer worked.
I finally gave up, exited N1MM+, restarted WSJT-X outside of N1MM+ and entered
exactly the same settings as I had previously. Now the high-lighting of the
calls worked properly and the split operation of my radio also worked properly!
Best of all any call I had worked with the WSJT program still was logged
properly in the N1MM+ log!
Otherwise conditions were not that great. I called CQ (on CW) both on 2M and
70CM and only worked one station on 2M. I had more success on 6M using CW.
Most of my contacts were using the FT8 mode but I did note that many were not
using the WSJT contest mode. I did manage to work a few stations on the left
coast late Sunday evening although it was a struggle with all the fading.
73, Sam W4PK
