Comments:
Ran as 1E from Home. Dug out the 4K Generator and fired it up just before the
contest. A valid test of running, a AL-80B at 800W out, The Flex3000, A HP SFF
8100 PC, A 35A 12V Supply, & two 20" box fans, all plugged into the
Generator... It handled it just fine with minimal voltage drop. Not Bad For
Harbor Freight! The 3ele 20M yagi at 43ft played well! The pileups on SSB or CW
were massive and fun to run down. 40M SSB 2hrs before sunset remains one of my
favorite periods of the entire event. Propagation was a mixed bag of good and
bad with lots of noise throw in... and yet I seemed to be heard and was hearing
well. Toward the end (After 1800Z when the A & B stations have shutdown) the
only action was FT8. I went to 15M and was surprised to find it packed with
decent signals including a EA8! With 30 Minutes left I dropped to 20M FT8 and
ran stations till the bell rang at 2059Z. The goal was to get past 1000 Qs with
the rest being gravy. Well I flew past that mark with almost 3 hrs left! My best
single op FD effort ever!
