An interesting contest. The daytime hours were disappointing. Very little
sproadic E, resulting in poor 10 and 15 meter numbers. It was all 20 meters,
almost all USA/VE, with a little Europe during mid-afternoon.
Nighttime was a pleasant surprise. 40 meters was outstanding to Europe for a few
hours, but tough to run with static crashes. Even 80 produced, working a number
of Europe HQ stations. That is unusual for summertime from southwest New Mexico.
Excellent conditions to JA and the far east on 40 and 80. Great JA activity on
40 !
QSO Breakdown:
71 % North America
11 % Europe
10 % Japan
FT8 has definitely not replaced CW.
