FLEX 6400 - 3 el SteppIR @75'.

I started very slowly. 20M normally has a little siesta at mid day. Then it woke
up a bit and I went to 15M for too long considering the results then one VE3
heard me on 10. I did a little dance and went back to 20M then I heard thunder
so had to shut down and disconnect everything coming from the tower. When the
danger past I tried to get going again but could not decode anyone. I fought
with this problem for 30 minutes before I removed 16db of preamplification and
it was OK again. I found that my AGC had turned itself off and I was overloading
the front end of the FLEX. Then signals were up and my mighty 88W was attracting
some attention on 20M. Later on I went to 40M but S&P was spotty and I was
spent.

The FLEX is great on RTTY except the BW presets are ridiculous. The FlexControl
knob was very handy.

Loudest signal - ZF1A.
Best DX - YF0TUR.

Thanks for another fun NAQP. 73,

Robby
