Comments:

Didn't think I'd be able to put in a serious effort in this one since K0SN and I
had burned so much "free time" getting the new home brew monster
tribander ready for the season, before the hard winter hits. A big thanks to Tom
for all the modeling help along with the construction and erection. Luckily we
got the long honeydue lists done in time for SS.

Condx were surprisingly decent on all bands out west with a slightly rising SFN
and very low A and K indexes. 20m petered out at dusk but 15 remained open to
much of the US during Sunday midday. Lots of strong sigs there but most had
already been Q'd on 20.

Used this event to evaluate the monster and the taller 80m shunt fed 2 tower
array. Nice to catch a sweep early with at least 2 Qs in every section (except
VI). Can't ever remember doing that since my first SS back in 1960. The usual
rare sects were plentiful this year, but overall activity seemed down. Finding
new Qs on Sunday afternoon became a slog, so we shut down early at 0030Z.

The suggested SS rules changes mentioned by others in recent years on various
forums to stimulate more participation seem overdue.
