Comments:

K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB operated Multi-Op 1 Tx HP in the 2019 ARRL 10m.

Our C3 beam with 10m. was unusable; SWR spiked to 6.5 and shut
down the HPA. Desperate, we checked SWR of 40m. Falcon beam on 10m.
Surprise! In shack, SWR=2 at 28.3 MHz, easy for tuner but 4 dB line
loss. And, beacon peaked +/- 40 deg. from boresight and from rear.
So, not much gain, but rotatable and high, on an 85-ft. tower atop
a 43-ft hill.

We did OK at start with this off-spec beam, 37 Qs and 10 state
mults 00-0115Z, 25 of the Qs running on CW. No E skip; all Qs were
in MD, DC, and 5 surrounding states plus CT.

After supper N3UM came back 0211-03Z for 14 Qs and 7 state mults on
CW, 5 via E skip; AL, FL, IL, NB, and TX; then rate died.

Sat. AM 1410-1610Z N3UM on CW got 41 Qs, FY via F-layer, and 10
state mults via spotlight E skip; TN, AR, LA, and MS, then MI, WI,
QC, MN, IA, and rare NE. Then W3GB on SSB 1612-1700Z got 16 Qs and 5
mults, 4 via Es; MS, LA, TX, and IA. From 18-19Z W3GB got 5 F-
layer DX mults; PY, LU, and CX on CW, then PY and LU on SSB.

>From 1900-2045Z N3UM got 51 CW Qs, 33 of them in short runs, and
CE, HI, and OA mults, our last F-layer DX. After supper, in 1 hr
from 0018Z N3UM found just 14 Qs and our last mult, NY.

Sunday was SLOW, few Qs, no mults; 1430-1600Z N3UM got only 19 CW Qs,
all LOS except MI and FL, probably meteors. W3GB did regular
checks 1730-2400Z; he found NO skip and only 5 SSB Qs in MD, VA,
and PA just after 20Z.

We got no states W of NE and TX, and only QC and NB in VE; 42 total
mults this year vs 70 in 2018. With zero sun spots and SFI swinging
wildly from 69 to 71, this was not much of a surprise.
