Comments:

I made only 3 contacts on 80 meters during the first 20 minutes of this session.
I made many calls but nobody seemed to hear me. I reluctantly attributed the
problem to propagation and started switching to 40 meters. It was then that I
realized I had been using my 6 meter dipole antenna at 20 feet. Things went much
better when I switched to my 80 meter full wave delta loop. I've been a ham for
over 50 years, but we all make rookie mistakes occasionally.
