That was FUN!!

Many thanks to my team members that trudged through the ice and rain to make it
this year. Ted WA3AER and Dennis N8IVN did the first half of this contest and
somewhere around the 4th hour noticed the almost 4:1 SWR on the 20 &
40-meter Yagis. We mashed the internal antenna tuners of the radios and kept
going. Even 80 & 160 were significantly off resonance due to the icing.

Jay W3MMM and Bob ND3D were undeterred by the inclement weather and they both
stayed and operated until the end of the contest. Great job by all 4 team
members!!

Band conditions were excellent on 20, 40 & 80, and 160. 160 really
surprised me!!

Congratulations to W5WZ and NX5M for their presumed first and second place
finishes, and to NX5M for doing this with a broken 40m Yagi!!! That was fun and
some great competition!!

73,

Jim Nitzberg WX3B
