Comments:

There is so much about this effort that I don't understand. My QTH is literally
on the summit of a hill, 1875ft ASL, near Boerne, TX, and it is extremely quiet,
so I have that going for me. My TX/RX antenna was an Alpha Delta DX-A, about 55
ft high mounted on my tower, that's it. Being on the top of the hill, obviously,
helps. Additionally, I just bought a FlexRadio 6400 just to see what all the
hoopla is about and to have something a little easier to remote to. I used it
for this contest instead of my K3S. For 160 RX, I normally use a BOG that has,
in the past, worked great with my K3S. However, with the 6400, the TX antenna
far outperformed the BOG on RX. I don't know if the 6400 receiver is just that
much better or the K3S has better RX antenna amplification. I guess it doesn't
matter. I was astonished at the rates I was able to run and the DX that was
calling me in addition to winning pile-ups. I was too mesmerized to walk away
from what I figured would be a couple of hours of fun.

I'm normally a DX'er in this contest, but the pile-ups I was getting were too
distracting and I'm sure I missed some good stuff as reported by N5AW.

I had 46, non-NA QSO's and 18 EU entities, with a $120 Antenna.

I love this radio stuff.

Thanks for the QSO's
