Comments:
Conditions pretty good - still need to improve my
Inverted-L as I am only using 35' vertical and 95' sloped section and
couldn't get West Coast (7-Area and most 6-Area) and European stations
at all. I could hear them faintly enough to QSO - but they couldn't
hear my 'QRP-like' 100W calls (a few tried but couldn't pull me
through). I have prospective 65-70' tree limb about 175' from my house
that looks pretty good for next summer's project - and I happen to
have 175' of LMR400 sitting, just waiting! Plus, I need to add 1-2
more elevated radials at 10-15' up to my existing two.
My 270' OCFD inverted-vee at 40' up is great for ~400 miles around -
in fact better than my Inverted-L. The 160 SSB contest should be brutal
for me! Nice to hear many CCO members.
