Comments:

This is my bit for the YCCC. Most of my interest is in contests other than the
big four but I thought I'd step outside my comfort zone, get in some CW practice
and help out the club.

My goal was to have half as many QSOs as my friend Dave, WN4AFP. We were both
reporting our scores to the Online Scoreboard, so it was easy for me to slack
off and stay at 50%. I managed that.

Condition were average, with lots of seriously deep QSB. The bands were noisy at
my QTH, steady all weekend. I'm not sure if this was general atmospheric noise
or local neighborhood crap. The end result is the same, in any case.

I used the VE7CC cluster and noticed more than usual spotting errors: TJ3X for
YT3X, for example. T2S for II2S.

It's interesting to compare power now with 40 years ago. Now most everyone runs
high power, up to 1500 output, whereas back in the day fewer did. And back then,
in the USA, one kilowatt meant input, with maybe 600-700 watts out. With today's
power and big aluminum Spirits in the sky, lots of folks really are
599(+(+(+))). Not me, though. I hold to the old ways.

Thanks to the DX for the QSOs.

73,
Ken, AB1J
