Thanks to Tino HI3CC for helping again with the call sign.
In addition to operating a little from my QTH here in Sosua, Tino and his crew
invited me to join the M/S efforts at HI3LT.
Loma del Toro is a QTH that is hard to describe and one needs to see it to
believe it.
My wife Juana and I drove up on Saturday morning. It’s a journey from the
north coast towards Santiago. The landscape of this part of the Dominican
Republic is fantastic. As we got closer to the mountains, we had to go up some
trails that you can only do in 4X4.
It is steep terrain and the weather changes rapidly.
The views are spectacular and when the clouds roll in, one could think we are
back in cold New Hampshire. The temperature dropped to 15 degrees Celsius up
there and it was 28 degrees here in Sosua.
I had some good runs from Loma del Toro and again from here as HI0LT.
Do to many other commitments I could only operate limited times.
