Comments:
This was a battery-powered portable operation from the Cuyahoga Valley National
Park (EN91ff) in northern Ohio. This was the first deployment of my Wolf River
Coils vertical system - it worked quite well. I made one tactical error,
however: I did not leave the house with a fully charged battery. I noticed my
Icom IC-706 started complaining at about 1943z, when the key-down voltage
slipped below 11.0. Four minutes later I shut down, not wanting to put a
chirpy, unstable signal on the air.
