Comments:

I wasn't even aware this was going to happen until neighbor KH6CJJ said he was
going to play in this sandbox. So, why not?  I haven't done this one in years.
The bands were full of signals but hard to get a decent run going due to my QTH.
There's a 5,000 ft mountain between me and JA which may explain my lack of
enthusiasm. I did get a really really big pileup when going to 40 early (0700Z)
but lots of lightning QRN plus packet pileup behavior (everyone zero beat with
each other) made life difficult but I did enjoy all the attention. Confuser says
a bit under 4 hours. I tried 160 but too early. Loud signals were KA6BIM and
K3EST CQing with few takers.

R1:  K3+Acom2000 on 20, 40
R2:  K3+ KPA1500 on 15, 80, 160
Ants:
3 ele SteppIR on 20 with single element on 40 @ 35 ft for R1
2 ele SteppIR on 15 @ 30 feet for R2160 OCF dipole matched for 80 or (relay)
160 at about 30 ft. for R2
Crankup tower stuck at 30 feet due to dead motor.

SO2R worked quite well during slow activity times. Mostly dueling CQ
Some JA ops are a little too polite. If I missed a dit in a call, the op would
NOT come back after I sent the exchange. The right way is to come back and
include the correct call along with his exchange. But instead I'd have to endure
the pileup again only to discover I copied K instead of C .. for example. Much
time wasted. Otherwise, it's always a pleasure to work JA.
