Only heard a 4 call briefly. Operating portable from Mahanoy City, PA. Equipment
used; Icom 551d to loop antenna up about 40’. Despite being at an elevation of
1600’ the surrounding mountains are near 2000’ elevation. Mahanoy City is
the birthplace of CATV for this reason. Not one TV station can be received from
this location. Since the loop Was put up I have managed one 6m contact with a
Tennessee station during an opening in August 2019. Still listening in hopes of
catching an opening.
