Comments:
Operation curtailed Saturday morning 0300 local time when a massive electrical
storm passed through, with lighting flashes as rapid as every 3 seconds for a
sustained period, and some near strikes to our mountain tops. At that point, was
working JA's easily and was about to go to 80m. Scariest electrical storm I've
ever seen. Quit early on Sat night and started again at 0330 local time .
Asian opening just not a strong early Sun morning.
With amp still not repaired, decided to run 200 watts on the FT-1000mp Mk V,
thinking even the 3dB above Lp was important. Used assistant lightly to locate
Friday on 20 Eu signals were exceptionally strong, but band really never opened
to Asia. At 2100 local Pac time on 20, P33W and EW8W answered simultaneously on
my run frequency.
