Comments:

There were plenty of issues with this contest for me, but I actually had more
fun after I dialed back the seriousness and must say that it all turned out
better than I could have hoped.

The weather and wind were tough. Three separate storms, the last two with
pretty good wind. Both of my rotary towers (yeah, I know, I am so spoiled) had
some issues. The 10/15 tower stopped turning at sunset on Saturday, right after
the first storm. The 40/20 tower broke a shear pin on Sunday afternoon, too
late to really matter (but of course I didn't have a spare).

Battled DXLog for the first 24 hours, with plenty of logging mistakes due to my
understanding that ESM mode was not quite ready for 2BSIQ (at least it isn't
using the VE3NEA trainer). Very ugly operating, lots of deer in the headlights
moments as I tried to remember what key to push. On Sunday morning, after a
full night's sleep, it occurred to me that I had not tried ESM in a contest.
Voila! It was bulletproof. All of my normal operating instincts were now
advantages, and I actually had fun.

Speaking of fun, the place where my 10/15 stopped when the rotor crapped out was
aimed at EU! Never thought that would be a useful direction, but it was. I
didn't have a lot of rate to EU, but it sure was more fun than the slug fest on
20.

I just couldn't get off to any kind of decent start in this contest, not sure
what the issue was. Fell behind the other western guys immediately and just
continued to sink. 40 to EU was really not happening out here at all.

Nice to spend the weekend with 10,000 other CW people. Stay safe everyone.
