Comments:

Ran 6-meter CW/SSB only start to finish, KW with 6-ele Yagi @65 feet (only
partially rotatable) and a 4-ele Yagi @ 19 feet. Was surprised that I could run
stations with the little 4-ele.
Was not trying to work DX, but I was constantly looking for signs of a
European opening. In the end did not hear a general opening to Europe but did
log G, EA, CU, YV, and C6A. Strangely, I did not work any Canadians, save one
VO1 early in the contest.
The band suddenly went completely dead for about an hour Sunday, 2100-2200
UTC--very strange, like an HF blackout. Never had this experience on 6 meters
before. Band came back slowly, led by a QSO with C6A, and continued to the end
of the contest.
Activity was generally very high, with contest stations running as high as
50.250, but dominated by one-hop QSOs. Did make some double-hop QSOs to TX, KS,
NM, AZ, and CA late in the contest.
It was especially gratifying to hear the band filled with CW/SSB stations
during the entire contest. I wondered how the FT8 crowd might be doing under
contest conditions.
    All-in-all a most interesting weekend. --Emil W3EP FN31 Connecticut
