Comments:
Always a fun contest. Worked hard to prepare. Unfortunately, never got 902
going. Good 6M Es for about one hour at the beginning, and then Sunday morning
and for the last 3 or so hours. Would go to SSB/CW when condx really opened up.
FT8 was too frustrating. CW activity was very good. The last two hours,
multi-path flutter and fading was prominent on a number of signals, and CW was
the the only way, 144, 222, and 432 condx were awful. I'm too far from the
nearest population center (Austin) and it was hard to hear the active rovers
more than a grid away. Ran out of time to put up a Cushcraft 17B2 on the
432/222 tower, so the only 2M antenna was on the same mast as 6M - not good.
6M QSO Mode Breakdown:
CW: 201
FT8: 106
MSK144: 14
SSB: 121
Also made 8 FT8 QSO's on 2M
Thanks to all for the QSO's!!
