Comments:
This contest was the christening of my beam and tower, and it did not
disappoint. My goal was 500 Qs and 500K pts, and I beat both. There is lots
more to keep track of now that I have a directional antenna. It's like I can
invent a new band without changing frequencies by pointing the antenna to a
different part of the world. That was fun! It was especially useful when all the
bands went flat in the late afternoon. It felt like I was manufacturing QSOs. I
also got used to the 180 mode of the SteppIR very quickly to speed up covering
the compass points. Did lots of S&P but the runs were pretty productive. I'm
not a speed demon yet, but I did ok. I still have a few things to automate and
this will help me set my priorities. Thanks for all the Qs and apologies to
anyone who had to put up with my 27 wpm run frequencies.
