Comments:
A group effort between Tennessee Contest Group and Deep Dixie Contest Club...
Very short time to prepare for a distributed multi op but we made it happen and
it went smooth.
80 and 160 SSB were very Very poor due to storms surrounding us. We tried hard,
swapping between stations and antennas but it was of no help. We apologize for
being an alligator on them but I promise the operators worked every single call
they could hear.
21 Operators participated from, I believe, 12 stations.

The schedule was constructed independently for SSB and CW, yet I think the
managers could have been swapped and the schedules remain the same.... We were
in Kill Mode. Top stations and operators in the prime time slots for the most
impact. Hardware, geographic location and skills were all utilized to give the
most advantage. The breaks and relief operators were well planned. Backup
stations that could cover any band / mode instantly gave an excellent failsafe.
Everyone knew their jobs and executed them like professionals. A couple stations
had hardware failures but there was not a 2 minute gap before another station
took over for them while repairs were made (I don't believe any station was down
more than 20 min before resuming their operation)
The hardware failures I heard were:
A Lightning Arrestor
2 Amplifiers (T/R Relays)
IC-7800
The Network was rock solid. N1MM became frustrating with stations across the
network getting repeated SQL error popups that not only slowed Q's but if not
closed paused updates to the database. Rebooting gave a 20 - 30 min window
before they resumed.
I am honored and very proud to have been a part of the 2020 IARU HF
Championship W1AW/4 event. Every operator showed up and worked it hard. I want
to thank each of you for participating. We Rocked it !
Ron, WV4P
