Comments:
This was my first serious attempt at a contest from my new QTH in SC. Could
only run 40-50 watts due to not having my big DC power supply with me. Last
week I installed a My Antennas EFHW 80-10 multi-band single wire antenna up at
50 feet in an inverted L configuration. No ground rod or counterpoise attached.
This antenna is fed with 200 feet of RG8X so some additional power loss on high
bands. Overall very impressed with the antenna performance especially on 40-80
meters. Also tried 160 meters using internal tuner on K3 to make a few extra
mults. Very happy with what I was able to do with low power and simple antenna
!
Lots of activity on 20-160 meters. Had a nice run on 40 meters with 136 Q's in
a row. Worked HI and AK to complete WAS !
K3 & 50W and EFHW all band antenna.
Thanks for the Q's !
Joe
