It was the best of times (the first three hours), and the worst of times (most
of the rest of the contest.) Like everyone else, we're not bringing in big
crews in the year of the Plague, just three of us locals, myself, Kris AL2F, and
the legendary Dave KA1NCN. Got off to a smoking start averaging 400 Qs per
hour, then ole Sol reminded us that in 2020, nobody gets to have that much fun.
The K index went up to 4, where it remained, and the A was up at 17. We hit
radio silence a couple of times on all bands, including about 90 minutes between
Qs at one point. A decent Q total considering conditions, but mults were way
way down. It was great to have JA on 160 Phone after all of these years.
That's gonna be huge for us when WPX SSB comes up (assuming a meteor or the
"Rona" hasn't taken us all out by then.
Next up, ARRL SS CW in two weekends, where I will be a single op.
