Comments:
This is the first contest I have entered since moving to Florida. With all of my
shack packed in boxes (we have yet to find the perfect ham radio location down
here), I kept my Elecraft KX3 and my Buddipole out to do some casual operating.
I set up the Buddipole in the backyard of my Mother-in-Law's townhouse as a
"vertical" configuration, and I was happily surprised with the
results.
The one thing that I forgot to bring down was an antenna analyzer so tuning the
Buddipole was a task in patience. I have not operated any contest with anything
less than 100w, so it was something new for me also. Only had a few hours to
operate, so I only operated on 20m.
Noticed a lot of QSB during the afternoon. Was nice to work a few GMCC stations
as well!
