Comments:
After managing to swap Valentines Day for contest time so many years in a row,
the miserable cold we are having now (-2F as I write this) conspired to keep me
in the part-time contester category this weekend. The good part is that I
enjoyed a nice brisk run rate for all the 11 hours of op time, and enjoyed
watching Bud & Randy swap leads without feeling the usual (but impossible)
urge to try and run with the big dogs.
Despite the cold, the antennas & switching all worked just fine with nothing
frozen. The amp room never got above 68F (20C) which is the point that a fan
kicks on and vents the amp room heat into the shack in the winter.
Ran 99% of the time with just a bit of S&P on 15M to catch a few mults as I
waited for 40M to pickup. 59 unique countries worked. Best DX: Indonesia.
Best 60 minute rate: 156Q.
