Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB operated Multi-2 in 2021 ARRL DX CW.
We hoped to beat our 2020 result of 1324 Qs, 361 mults, and
1.43 M claimed, our best since high-SFI years 2018 and before.
We did that, by just 3%; 1.225X as many Qs but 0.84X as many
mults in 1.38X more BIC hrs. Kp of 3-4 gave low Q rates on
160 thru 40 M, but SFI of 75 gave high rates on 20 and 15 M.
Our mult deficit was probably partly due to ~2X fewer special
operations, due to covid travel limits.
At start 00-0420Z, N3UM as usual ran for bulk Qs on 40 M and then
on 80 M for 195 Qs, and W3GB as usual clicked spots for mults and
“always-CQ” ops on 80 and then 40 M. At 0420Z N3UM left to sleep
and return early. W3GB stayed and got to 212 Qs on 40, 80, and
160 M to take our combined total to 407 Qs at 0833Z QRT.
Back early, N3UM ran EUs on 20 M for 301 Qs 1238-1628Z. W3GB
1612-00Z got 201 Qs, 161 on 20 M and 40 on 15 M. N3UM 1924-2212Z
got 151 Qs on 40M, 124 in a run.
W3GB got 43 Qs on 40 and a last 10 on 20 M 00-04Z and left for
sleep and early return. N3UM got 161 Qs on 40 thru 80 M slow but
steady 0050-0615Z, 105 of them on 80 M.
W3GB got good EU rates on 20 M early Sun. AM; 158 Qs 1230-17Z.
Then 17-00Z on 20 and 15 M, W3GB got 84 last high-band Qs and
9 mults, now mostly in SA and AS.
On 40 M 1925-00Z N3UM ran for 69 of 105 slow last Qs, and
2 mults. W3GB got 41% of our total Qs, but 55% of our mults.
