Comments:

Thanks for the QSOs! This was a lot of fun and great practice. I do have one
comment. The SST is different from other contests in a number of respects:
slower speed, for one thing, of course. But also it's different in that
participants send a lot of things that aren't usually sent in most contests
involving CW. I'm thinking of things such as, DE (KF6NCS), 73, GA or GE, sending
your call sign or your name when it's not necessary, etc. I haven't heard anyone
send "pse cpy," but someone yesterday did send, "UR" before
sending the exchange.

This has its pluses and its down sides. On the positive side, it makes for a
friendlier event, and it makes it more challenging to copy what's being sent
because you don't know what is coming next. You've really got to stay on your
toes. The negatives? Maybe there is only one: that is slows things down. You
could argue that guys who are sending extraneous stuff are not learning good
contest etiquette. However, they'll surely learn how it should be done once they
participate in real contests.

73 to all,
Larry
