Comments:
Was hoping for better. Purchased a new (to me) K3 from W1MD #2591 earlier this
week and tried it out in CWT.
Would be curious for feedback from anyone who noticed any distorted keying from
me this morning. I think it's the original Elecraft synthesizer issue when going
> 36wpm with an external keyer (in my case, a WinKey). The internal keyer in
the radio seems OK. I'll try to get the DTR/RTS keying working for the 1900z CWT
and see if it is improved.
I was under the impression that the conventional wisdom had everyone going back
to using a WinKey with keying compensation set to 6 to avoid the K3 shortening
each code element, but if the keying sounded as bad as my sidetone did this
morning, I'll put up with the shortened elements and use DTR/RTS keying.
