Comments:
Despite the NOAA K = 1 forecast, Aurora was
up to over 128 gigawatts one hour after the
1300Z session, and ever since we have two red
bars of K = 7 geomagnetic disturbance. Most
likely that does not occur even every year.
Tonight I started on 7 MHz, but then went to
14 MHz. A nice catch was Carlos PY4XX, and
the only USA heard was Con W4IPC. Hot spots
were jumping erratically for DL/ON/PA with
I & LZ strongest and bunch of fair EA-sigs.
Finally 3.5 MHz was so busy with good signals
that I did not make it back to 7 MHz. Normally
I hear much better with the Loop-on-Ground, but
an interesting observation in these geomagnetic
conditions was, that I could not get much signal
through the loop at all, just weak with poor SNR.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
