Comments:
Almost a ten week break in operating at OH3BCX
(instead at OH5ZA). Got things wired up just
one minute before the start. The tree-supported
2-el yagi had shifted to a Southern azimuth,
so the vertical proved more effective for the
bulk of activity. Signals on 14 MHz were quite
damped for Europe. There was a minor B2-flare
during CWT peaking at 1315Z, and it might have
helped the daytime sector slightly to VE/W.
As 50 MHz Mid-East Es had subsided, we suffered
probably regular D-layer absorption for Europe.
The last 8 minutes spent on 7 MHz with strong
short-range signals mainly from SM-land and OZ.
Band-change takes time (FT-990/LK-550Z/MT-3000A).
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856
